It was a good day to be sailing a Sabre. For those in the more flighty Lasers, Aeros & Melges, it was like the next instalment of Fast & Furious. Extreme speeds and extreme wipeouts were the order of the day as the full fury of the gusty Northerly arrived with a vengeance just after the start of the first race. The proposed 9 laps over 3 races, became a 1 lap fight-for-survival, and then head for the beach. Once again, showing the sort of skill that we have come to expect, out of the aforementioned “flighties”, only our current Club Champion, Martin, and Stewart Carter, didn’t capsize during the race or beforehand. However, in sympathy with his subjects, our glorious Club Champion did decide to capsize 20m off the beach as he was coming in. Hail to the Chief! Full results are here.
