The two races on Saturday were sailed in incredible conditions.  Variable 10knots SW, broken sunshine, small seas. Best conditions…..ever!.  Fantastic.  But it was also a day of drama and shock.

1.      Mitch Campbell was there on time! I know, unbelievable!  Some people, great people, even say he was actually early!

2.      Peter Balka, or JD as he is otherwise known, managed to capsize!  In 10knots!  How?

But the biggest drama of the day is this…

3.      The club handicapper initially reported that the great Martin Corden had won the first race.  WON BY A LOT.  This was then then revised to show that he came 7^th.  Martin was heard to say….“ This was a fraud on the Merrickan people. This is an embarrassment to our yacht club.  I was getting ready to win this race.  Frankly I did win this race. “

Martin is now working on a comeback in 4 years’ time.  It will be beautiful.
