If you are unsure which Squad your child will be swimming in (Dolphins, Juniors or Seniors), please speak to one of the coaches at our 'Have A Go' day before registering.
Dolphins: These are our younger swimmers. They focus on technique and building up their swimming stamina to be able to swim 25 metres, then eventually 50 metre laps. Dolphins do need to be able to swim independently with a basic stroke pattern. Our Dolphin coach will be assessing all Dolphin Swimmers to ensure it is safe and appropriate for them to join swim club. Some young swimmers need a few weeks back in the pool after a long break, or interm/ vacation swimming lessons then they can join in February.
Junior Squad: Our Juniors have reasonable technique which will be fine tuned during their time in the squad. They swim for approximately 45 minutes each session and are building up their stamina to be able to swim for an hour.
Senior Squad: Seniors are our stronger swimmers, training for an hour each time. We divide them into different groups and lanes according to speed and ability, to allow for slower or faster swimmers to be able to swim at their own pace. They do lots of laps, building up fitness and speed, as well as learning more advanced competitive techniques.
