Welcome to the 2024 Melville City Hockey Club Hookin2Hockey Season!

Hookin2Hockey is Hockey Australia's official junior program that allows kids to make friends and have fun in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment!

Melville's Hookin2Hockey Minkey program is a modified version of hockey designed for mixed teams of boys and girls from Pre-Primary to Year 2. Rules are modified to encourage a safe and free-flowing game. Players will be put into a team (generally 6-8 players) with a coach and team manager. Sessions go for one hour (30 minutes of training to teach basic skills followed by a game against another Melville Minkey team).

Melville's Hookin2Hockey Junior 3/4 grade is a transitional grade as the players move from Minkey into the Junior competition. J3/4s play on a full-size ground and start to learn field positions and further develop their basic skills. More rules of hockey are introduced as the season progresses. Sessions go for 75 minutes (30 minutes of training to teach and develop skills, followed by a 45 minute game against another Melville J3/4 team). 

Location

Melville Minkey and Junior 3/4 training and games take place at the Club each Saturday morning on the grass fields, located at Morris Buzacott Reserve, Kardinya.
