Genesis Mountain District Open Squash Championships
The tournament is happening from Friday Feb 2nd to Sunday Feb 4th. Entries will be open soon on our website at this link. Just finalising a few details and I'll give you a heads up when they open.

Knox Squash Centre Carrington Park
After maybe 5 years of speculation it looks like the new squash centre at Carrington Park will open sometime early 2024. Members of the committee have met with James Poynton, the owner / operator of the business to talk about what the centre will offer and possible opening dates.
The vision James paints is exciting and we believe that the centre will be a great addition to the squash and racquetball community.
The exact opening date is difficult to pin down at this stage with a couple of proposed dates blowing out. Demolition works have taken place and foundations are in.
Once we see the final product we'll be in a position to make recommendations to our members.
Pennant
In the meantime the club will be business as usual in relation to entering teams for the Summer Open Squash pennant and Autumn pennants for Masters, Ladies, Friday and Racquetball. If you want to play pennant next season, now is the time to contact our coordinators. Pennant details are on the website and you can email to be put in touch with our coordinators.

Juniors
One of the stalwarts of our junior coaching group, Jamie Evans, has decided to hang up his coaching racquet for the time being. Jamie has supported our juniors for at least 5 years. He has encouraged junior players with humour and patience. They always look forward to hitting with him because his sessions are FUN!. Thanks Jamie from Carolyn and me and the junior squad.
Premiers
Masters Team 1 grade 5 had a great season, finishing second and then winning the grand final.
Racquetball had a blinder with premierships in Grades 3 (Champs) 4 (Crocs) and 5 (Pink Panthers).
Mountain District 2 won the B grade in the SSL powering into the grand final and overcoming a slow start to the season.
Congrats to those teams and everyone who played this season.
