Event information

This event has passed.
Training for all development squads will be conducted from 12pm til 3pm fortnightly from the 1st May 2022 (during the school term).

In addition to our coaching program we will be training our sailors through the frostbite winter racing schedule held at the end of each month in May, June, July & August.

This course is designed for current MBSC junior club members and experienced junior sailors wishing to join our squads.

Our winter squads will be split into two categories:

Single Handed - Opi's & Bic's

We will be focussing on all aspects of sailing including upwind/downwind, sailing close hauled, tacking & gybing, mark rounding, starting and finishing.

Double Handed - Flying Ant, 420, Pacer

Our double handed squad will focus on the skills of sailing in pairs, trapezing, using the spinnaker and hone skills for racing techniques and proficiency on the water.

Introductory Sessions

We will be running introductory sessions towards the end of the winter season.

Mounts Bay Sailing Club is hosting Westsail in the September holidays - this is a week long training camp for junior sailors run by The Yachting Association of WA and Australian Sailing, we hope to have a contingency of MBSC juniors participating in the program across all fleets.

We aim to provide a safe and enjoyable program that will enhance your fundamental boat handling skills,  essential safety knowledge and give you the skills for better racing techniques.

Our Instructors will make sure you have a great time on the water furthering your sailing development.
