Marine SafetyWorks Marine First Aid Course 2412FA67
December 1: Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, 1 New Beach Road, Darling Point 1730-2200
The course is conducted under the auspices of Australian Red Cross for the Workplace Approved HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (as required within the Australian Sailing Special Regulations for Categories 1 & 2) with additional inshore and offshore marine subjects to ensure that ongoing care at sea can be provided until assistance can be accessed. The course has a practical focus and includes the following:
- Practical marine scenarios
- Practical sessions with resuscitation dummies, defibrillator and bandages
- Details about Category 1 First Aid kits, skin stapling, seasickness, moving onboard patients, and airlifting patients
- Practical session on giving injections
- Course notes including the‘Marine SafetyWorks First Aid Cheat Sheet’
Students are required to complete an online component in order to complete the course. Once registered, an email will be sent from Australian Red Cross with login details for the online component. Ideally this should be completed prior to the practical face to face session, however, it can also be finalised following the practical session.
Course cost is $220.
