The Mandurah Dragon Boat Club was formed in 1989 by Ron Robinson and Rod Quirk.
The first official meeting was held on 11th July 1989. A committee of management and fundraising was established, with a generous donation from Richard “Dick” Coleman who sadly passed away in 1995 but his name is on one of our dragon boat racing boats as a reminder of his generosity and enthusiasm.
The club's constitution was formed in November 1991 and affiliation with the Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club was established in August 1993, followed by our own incorporation in September 1993.
Nearly 30 years on, and the Mandurah Dragon Boat Club has had huge success over the years, including winning the 2001 Masters Women’s and Junior state titles.
2003/2004 saw the club in a rebuilding mode and take on the name of the Mandurah Vikings. The 2008/2009 season saw the club move to a new home at Mandurah Yacht Club in Halls Head.
In the April 2017 the VIKINGS returned to it's roots, and were welcomed home to MOFSC! We are now situated on the beautiful calm waterways of the Mandurah Marina.
We are looking forward to an exciting season and welcoming new members to the club to participate in dragon boat racing.
