The La Trobe University Taekwondo Club was established in the seventies by students at La Trobe University (under the guidance of Grand Master Yong Dai Cho, 9th Dan black belt, Kukkiwon) in 1973.

Head instructor: Master Yukyung Song

La Trobe TKD train 2 times a week, 2 hours each session. Outside of training, there are regular social events that occur usually once a month. Examples of the activities are bowling, dinner, karaoke, camping, rock climbing, ice skating and more. The group is very social and are always keen to catch up or meet new people.

The LTUTKD club has also entered the competitive scene;

We highly encourage people try to compete as it's a very fulfilling and insightful experience. As a member of this club, you are expected to be mindful and respectable to those around you. Assist in packing equipment away, listen carefully to the instructor and voice out any concerns, so that a resolution can be made. There are opportunities to be part of the committee, which allows the practice of responsibility and refining team work skills. La Trobe TKD will teach you the principles of the martial arts, strengthen your mind and body, and welcome you to a fun and diverse group for many events, experiences and enthusiasm.
