Legend’s Club History:
While we are proud of the progress and ongoing development of our club it is also important to know how and why Legends Softball originally formed as this represents the core of our club culture and can guide us as we go forward together.
Graeme Cooke formed a team back in 97/98 as a tribute to the passing of close family friend and coached junior player Bobby Lee Brooks (09/06/84 to 14/01/96). ‘Legends Softball’ was reborn in 2007 with a common goal between Graeme, Josh Dodd and Barry Knott. Bobby Lee is the namesake for whom the Men’s Division 1 perpetual trophy is commemorated, and is the reason for “BLB” appears on the back of the shirts and the black arm band on the men’s sleeves as a sign of respect.
2007 was the inaugural year where Legends Softball formed their mens team, with the women’s team following the very next year in 2008. Since then the club has grown steadily.
We are proud of our past and excited about our future - but importantly Legends has always been about our people, our players and our families, so we wear our colours with pride.
