About

An energetic baseball loving high school teacher, Ian Anderson, started a baseball comp in 1974 between St. Ives High School against Turramurra High School. Gradually as this comp became more popular, Cliff Oval became their base and then moved to Golden Jubilee after it was developed from the local tip. The numbers grew rapidly forcing them to split the teams into three clubs, Willoughby, Ryde and St. Ives.  St. Ives later becoming Ku-ring-gai Stealers Baseball Club established in 1977. Thornleigh, Pennant Hills, Beecroft and Berowra added teams to play in the competition and a special committee was formed to run that competition. In 1988 the North Shore Major League Club was formed by combining the Ku-ring-gai and Mosman Major League Clubs.

Because of the phenomenal growth of the Stealers, another club was formed nearby called Kissing Point. In 2003 Ku-ring-gai Stealers moved from the North Shore Junior Baseball League to the Ryde-Hornsby Baseball League, later to become Ryde Hawks Baseball League and has featured strongly over the years in having players represented in RHBL’s rep teams.

In 2007, Chase Softball Club joined with Stealers Baseball League Inc, so now we offer both leagues under one club.  The Club’s name changed (overwhelming support) in 2021 to Ku-Ring-Gai Stealers Baseball and Softball Club Inc.
