Junior Hockey

Junior Hockey in Karratha

Our junior hockey program in Karratha is a great introduction to hockey where we focus on fun in a safe environment. Junior sport is an introduction to team work, good sportsmanship and the wider community for many of our children. We encompass the values of TrueSport+:

  1. Bring Your Best
  2. Play Fair
  3. Show Respect
  4. Have Fun
  5. Be Healthy
  6. Include All
  7. Give Back
  8. Be Safe

2025 Season

For 2025 we will be returning to play on Friday afternoons at the multi-purpose turf located in Bulgarra which we share with the Tennis Club. The synthetic surface provides players with a great opportunity to accelerate their skills and development. Promoting skill development with Stick-On-Ball means faster, safer and more robust skills.

Our team based training and competition will start in Week 1 of Term 2. It is important all registrations are received no later than Sunday 16 April. This will ensure the committee has time to create teams, fixtures and allocate coaches before the season starts. Late registrations cannot be confirmed placement within a team.

All children will be required to bring their own stick, mouthguard and shinpads.

Friday Afternoon Format

Junior Hockey,

Minky, All abilities (finish approx. 5:15pm)

4:30 - 5:30pm

It is preferred all children bring their own stick, mouthguard and shinpads, however we do have spare hockey sticks and shin pads to borrow if required.

Games

Juniors will be provided with team shirts for the hockey season after the first week. Games are fun, social and will be 30 minutes in length.  Please help after the game to pack away tennis nets and setting up the hockey fields and vice versa upon leaving. The players can also start to have a hit around and be ready to start their hockey right on time!
