1. NSW 2021 STATE SQUAD NOMINATIONS
Athlete Nominations
Nominations are now sought from interested athletes and need to be completed online by no later than midnight Wednesday 28 April 2021.
Nominations and Payments will not be accepted at the Training Camp(s).
Due to the impact of Covid-19, the selection process for 2021 will focus on participation in the NSW State Squad training program (see below).
Junior Competitors must have achieved a minimum of Junior Orange Belt.
Senior Competitors (including Cadets and older) must have achieved a minimum of Senior Green belt. Competitors may be asked to provide proof of Grade before being allowed to compete.
Athletes are also expected to be active competitors and as a guideline to have ideally participated in two NSW selection tournaments (see below) in preparation for the 2021 Nationals.
- Anytime Fitness Sydney International (27-28 Feb) - Seniors/Juniors/KYU Grades
- Illawarra Senior KYU Grades (28 Mar) - KYU Grades
- Central Coast Open (11 Apr) - Seniors/Juniors/KYU Grades
- Canberra International (17-18 Apr) - Seniors/Juniors/KYU Grades
Other categories have the following eligibility criteria:
- Veterans – participation in Veterans Squad training Sessions (TBC)
- Kata – participation in the Kata Training Camp (30 Apr-2 May) and training sessions.
Final State Team assessment and selection will be based on State Squad Training participation (both sessions attended and athlete training session performance). This assessment and selection will be completed by the State Coaching Team.
Athletes will need to complete a State Squad Inclusion Request (click here) if they have not competed in 2021.
Tournament Entry Fee refunds (only) will be provided only in the situation that the event is cancelled due to Covid-19 or border restrictions apply to NSW participants.
Extra Division Entries
If you are competing in multiple categories please then ensure that you select the extra entries from the Extra Divisions section.
Note - you must enter for your primary Age Category (eg Cadet, Junior, Veterans) prior to entering any Extra Divisions.
Existing Medical Conditions
Junior Athletes are requested to disclose any relevant medical conditions or illnesses (including but not limited to asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, allergies etc.).
To disclose a relevant medical conditions or illnesses you will need to download and complete the Judo NSW Medical Form - click here and then scan and email to office@judonsw.com.au.
Athlete Image Upload
All nominating athletes are required to provide a new digital image (jpeg format) of themselves.
The image requirements are passport style (ie head and shoulders only) max 1Mb file size.
The file name needs to be: FIRST NAME-FAMILY NAME-NSW & MEMBERSHIP NUMBER - eg “Bob-Jones-NSW32345.jpg”.
This image is required for identification purposes at the 2021 National Titles.
2. STATE SQUAD TRAINING PROGRAM
Training Program and Annual Camp
Due to Covid-19, in 2021 our Annual Training Camp has been split into separate Junior (1-2 May 2021) and Senior (8-9 May 2021) training camps.
The Junior and Senior camps will be conducted at the Judo NSW Training Centre, 1 Jamieson St, Newington Armory, Sydney Olympic Park (click here for site map).
Attendance at these training camps is a mandatory requirement for ALL Seniors and Juniors for inclusion in the 2021 NSW State Team.

The Kata Team will also conduct a State Kata Training Camp on 30 April - 2 May (click here) and train at the Judo NSW Training Centre on Saturdays (10-12noon).
Participation at this Camp is compulsory for all State Kata Team Members.
These training programs are subject to change.
3. NON STATE SQUAD MEMBERS AND INTERSTATE VISITORS – TRAINING CAMP ONLY OPTION
Non State Squad Members and Interstate athletes can also register before midnight Wednesday 28 April to participate at either the Junior (1&2 May 2021) or Senior (8 & 9 May 2021) State Training Camps or ‘Kata’ Camp (30 April-2 May).
Interstate athletes should contact Judo NSW prior to registering for the camp(s).
Final Acceptance of athletes to participate in the Training Camp will be made by the NSW State Coaches prior to the start of the camp.
4. TEAM APPAREL & MERCHANDISE
Your team entry includes a personalised NSW Team T-Shirt.
Other 'Team’ uniform items (Hoodies, bags, additional T-shirts) must be ordered by squad members separately via our Judo NSW online shop (click here).
Changes to clothing sizes can be made respectively at the Junior (1&2 May 2021) or and Senior (8 & 9 May 2021) State Training Camps.
All team members are expected to wear our Judo NSW team uniform including the ‘Hoodie’ & personalised T-Shirt during the 2021 Nationals.
Athletes participating in the Team ‘Walk-on’ & Opening Ceremony should wear the ‘hoodie’ t/shirt and white judogi pants.
5. 2021 NATIONAL TITLES SCHEDULE & LOCATION DETAILS
