BBR Kata Judges Training and Testing

 

The BBR Kata will hold Kata Judges Training and Testing sessions next month. These sessions will focus on Kime no Kata, Ju no Kata, and KDK Goshin Jutsu Kata judging. Attendance to all three sessions is mandatory to complete the training.

  • 5 Feb (Sun), 7-9pm: Online seminar over Zoom
  • 11 Feb (Sat), 1:30-4pm: On-mat session and paper test at the Judo NSW Martial Arts Dojo
  • 25 Feb (Sat), time is TBD: Practical test at Sydney International

 

Prior to attending the above sessions, Kata judge candidates should ensure they meet the requirements for Judo NSW State Level Kata Judges as described in https://www.dropbox.com/s/v8oy8mtv01qf5o2/JudoNSW%20Kata%20Judge%20Certification%20Ver1.3.docx?dl=0 . To summarise, you must meet the below requirements:

 

  • Judo NSW Financial Member
  • Minimum Rank: Shodan
  • Minimum Age: 18 y.o.
  • Working With Children Check completed
  • Sports Aus Community Officiating General Principles Course completed
  • Kata Knowledge and Ability requirement: Rank, Competency Certification, Competition results, or Special review by BBR Kata Commission
  • Attend Kata Judging Training (4 Feb, Zoom meeting)
  • Kata Judging Test (11 Feb, 1:30-4pm, Judo NSW Martial Arts Dojo)
  • Kata Judging Practical Test (25 Feb, Sydney International Open)
