FOUNDATION – SUPPORT COACH (COMMUNITY COACH) COURSE

DATE: Monday 14 February

TIME: 6-7 PM

WHERE: Ipswich Hockey Association

WHO: This Foundation Support Coach Course (formerly known as Community Coach) is targeted at those people beginning their coaching journey, and new coaches who are interested in learning the essential elements of coaching introductory hockey.

WHATS INVOLVED: A one-hour practical session AND an online theory component through Hockey Australia’s HockeyEd (to be completed in own time). Focus areas:

  1. Standard grip
  2. Moving with the ball
  3. Standard passing
  4. Receive from a teammate
  5. Tackling/stealing
  6. Essential elimination skills
  7. Simple gameplay tactics
