Update 23/12/2021

Unfortunately, the NSW Impulse Committee along with assistance from National Association and delegates from VIC and QLD have made the tough decision to postpone the 37^th Impulse National Championships.

The factors that lead to this decision are as follows

• Escalation of the COVID situation in NSW and Lake Macquarie.
• Physical and Mental health of our membership if close contact and isolation was required after the event.
• Understandable withdrawal of most of the VIC and QLD entrants over the past 24 hours bringing the entry list to 19 boats.
• With these numbers the event would have been a considerable financial loss to the NSW association.

Update 19/12/2021

We are aware of the developing situation in the Newcastle region and a meeting was held last night with the National association. We have decided to press on with the nationals but all social events have been cancelled (didn't even get to announce them but still organised them... grrr) extra precautions above the current NSW Health recommendations may be in force for the regatta. these may include QR check-in, face mask wearing, double vaccination, rapid antigen testing. if the situation changes and there are restrictions when returning home we will post it here on the website. Our priority is the safety of our members. If you have not submitted an official entry form please do so ASAP as it allows us to get your entry pack ready before xmas. Remember if you choose to withdraw from the event up to the first race or the nationals is cancelled a full refund will be paid. Please stay safe and hope to see some of you in just over a week. As the QLD border restictions have been updated we are waiving the entry date, so get your entry in and get a regatta shirt. 

The regatta shirts are first in first served as some sizes are limited.

Any entry fees paid can be refunded at the discretion of the entrant up to the start of the first Session.

If QLD, NSW or VIC have travel restrictions between states and NSW requiring an Impulse sailor attending the event to quarantine upon return then the intent is the NSW committee will seek to postpone the National Championships to the 2022/23 season.

All announcements will be made via the Impulse Website.
