Hello Sailors and friends of Big River Sailing Club,
Reluctantly we have made the decision to cancel next weekend’s single hander regatta.
The current foul weather looks to continue well into next week, with little chance for the grounds to dry up even if the rain stops by then!
The Northern Rivers is on “flood watch” so regardless of a flood or not, the Clarence will surely have a fair rise of fresh water by next weekend as the waters flow down from the catchments.
And as you all know, we haven’t got anywhere to keep you all warm and dry if we get more wet weather over the weekend.
It could be a case of damned if you do and damned if you don’t, but we think it best to call it early so you can cancel your flights, get your hotel deposits back with minimum penalty :) LOL
We look forward to better luck for the Bridge to Breakers “Halfway House” regatta, where single handers are very welcome too!
