Hurricanes Softball Club is an inclusive, family orientated club. We foster a culture of sportsmanship, respect and inclusion - for our players, coaches, administrators, volunteers and members.

We have a positive playing atmosphere that facilitates the development of skilled, resilient, coachable players with a passion for softball.

As Hurricanes Juniors Players we:

• play by the rules

• listen to and learn from our coaches and accept their advice with respect

• respect team mates, opposition players, team officials & umpires

• do not ridicule players for making an error

• treat and handle our equipment appropriately

• discuss our interest in learning to play in a key position with coaching staff during training

• show our team commitment by arriving on time and participating with hustle

• understand we are responsible for what we say and do on and off the diamond

• play the position allocated to us, to the best of our abilities

• don't criticise an umpire or direct negative comments towards them

• don’t use profane language or cause physical harm to others

• show our appreciation for the efforts of volunteer team officials

• always shake hands or fist pump opposition players and officials

• are modest in success and gracious in defeat

As caregivers of Junior's Hurricanes players -

We encourage players to:

• play by the rules 

• respect all coaches, team mates, opposition players & umpires 

• be independent problem solvers, capable of making their own decisions on the diamond

We remember:

• players play for their enjoyment, not ours 

• players are enrolled to have fun, learn softball skills & have a positive experience 

• players learn best by example, so we applaud the good plays of both teams

We are:

• supportive, involved caregivers who contribute to the sustainability of Hurricanes Softball Club by fulfilling volunteer duties when requested

During games we:

• don't criticise the judgement of umpires 

• refrain from yelling out coaching instructions 

• address concerns to team officials, away from players & always outside of games/practice times
