Junior Teams

Hurricanes Softball Club provides a comprehensive, inclusive, empowering playing experience that caters to a range of softball aspirations. 

U8 T-ball | Mozzies 

Games: 8.15 to - 9.45 am Saturdays

Training: August and September skills sessions 5:00-5:45 Wednesdays, from October training prior to games

Our co-ed U8 Mozzies team play non competitive games that provide fun, fitness and foundational t-ball skills.

Our friendly coaches welcome players of all abilities, aged between 4 and 7.

Games are 60 minutes in duration, with each player batting two or three times a game and fielding in different positions. All batters reach the base each innings and score runs. Coaches emphasise encouragement of team mates during games.

You can support the Mozzies team through managing, coaching, fufilling canteen duties and positive sideline spectating.

U10 T-ball | Hornets & Spitfires

Games:  10 to -11.30 am Saturdays  

Training: 5 to 6 pm on Wednesday's at Hawker

Our co-ed U10 Hornets and Avengers teams play semi competitive games, to enhance their t-ball skills. 

Each game lasts 60 minutes, with rules adjusted for fairness and fun. Players bat two or three times and try different positions.

Players under 10, regardless of skill, work on their skills to prepare for junior softball. High school players typically coach these teams, gaining leadership experience.

Families participate by scoring, managing, coaching, helping in the canteen, and cheering in a positive way.

U12 Junior Softball | Comets 

Games: 7.45 to 9.45am Saturdays 

Training: 5 to 6 pm on Wednesday's at 5pm, Hawker

Our U12 Comets are in a competitive junior softball league. It teaches the basics of softball and promotes sportsmanship.

Our Comets team has players new to softball, and tose moving up from t-ball. Players learn to hit a pitched ball and try different fielding positions. Our coaches focus on on correct batting, base running, throwing and fielding mechanics. 

Coaches create a fun, inclusive, family friendly playing environment. Each team is typically assistant coached by a high school division player looking to exercise leadership and game management skills in the sport they are passionate about. 

Families can contrubute tor U12 Junior Softball team through scoring, managing, coaching, fufilling canteen duties and positive sideline spectating.

High School Softball | Spitfires & Blackhawks

Spitfires games:  10 to 11.30 am Saturdays 

Blackhawks games 11.45 to 1.15 pm Saturdays 

Training: 5 to 6 pm, Wednesday's, Hawker

Our Spitfires and Blackhawks teams play competitive softball games in two graded high school divisionsTeams includepotential elite level players, capable and competitive players and players seeking the social and fitness benefits of softball. 

Players are matched to the Spitfires (Division 2) or Blackhawks (Division 1) team based on their individual playing goals, existing softball skills, availability of positions and overall team dynamics. 

By building competitive excellence on a foundation of respect, sportsmanship and personal commitment, our Blackhawks team has a strong history of producing players who represent at regional, national and international levels. 

Families support our high school softball teams through scoring, managing, coaching, fufilling canteen duties and positive sideline spectating.

Players are matched to the Spitfires (Division 2 or Blackhawks (Division 1) team based on their individual playing goals, existing softball skills, availabilty of positions and overall team dynamics. 

By building competitive excellence on a foundation of respect, sportsmanship and personal committment, our Blackhawks team have a strong history of producing players who represent at regional, national and international levels. 

Games are played Saturday mornings on the clay diamonds or grass fields at Hawker International Softball Complex. A 60 minute training session occurs one weekday afternoon.
