Hillarys Yacht Club will be holding a FREE TACKERS SAILING EXPERIENCE on Saturday, 7th September.

Kids from 7 to 12 years old can have a go at sailing a Tackers boat in the safe, protected waters of Hillarys Boat Harbour (near the foot bridge). Qualified instructors and assistants will be in the water with the sailors, guiding and helping them have a fun-filled exciting experience on the water.

No previous sailing experience is required and they don't need to be a member of a sailing or yacht club to participate, so come down and have a go. It's FUN! It's FREE!     

To save time on the day, please register each child (Do not register under a parents name/AS #) prior to coming down. If they don't have an Australian Sailing number, please scroll down the registration page to find the link to set one up.

The experience will be held between 9 am and 2.00 pm, so make sure to register within your preferred time slot so you don't miss out!

Life Jackets are supplied but you are most welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Wear your bathers, t-shirt, shorts and a hat, and bring a towel as you may get wet.

Please be aware of the parking areas, times and fees if parking in the north side boat ramp car park. There is free parking in the south side car park.

Who should do this course?

This is the perfect 'taster' for anyone who wants to discover sailing for the first time. This is the perfect introduction and can be the ideal way for you to begin your sailing journey, without having to commit to a full training course.

Course Outcome

Following the course, you will receive a completion certificate.

 

We recognise that some of our course participants are completing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and may be using sailing and/or club membership to complete one or more sections of The Award. To learn more, click here.
