Published Mon 22 Aug 2022

On the weekend, our HDSA rep team participated in Softball NSW's Under 16's State Championships. The girls fought hard all weekend, finishing the tournament in 5th place. View the team list for the weekend here.

On Saturday, HDSA started their tournament with a win against Penrith City, 8-3. The next game saw the girls draw with Campbelltown in an intense game with the score finishing at 7-7, followed by a win against Macarthur 9-3. Saturday finished off with a tough 15-2 loss to North Shore.

Sunday morning saw the girls play their last round game against Canberra Pride, winning 12-1. Finals then began where HDSA played off against Sutherland Shire for the chance to progress towards the GF. The girls fought hard, leading most of the game but sadly, Sutherland proved to be too strong and defeated Hornsby 9-5 to elimate the girls from the finals rounds. The last game of the day was against Penrith City to determine placings for 5th and 6th. HDSA finished the weekend strong, winning this game 11-1 resulting in 5th place for the team.

At the conclusion of the tournament, Olivia Losanno was recognised for her outstanding sportsmanship, commitment to the team and determination throughout the tournament. Olivia recieved the SNSW 'Player's player' award which was voted on by her teammates. Congratulations Liv!
