This course is sold out.

This one-day course is designed to improve your boat handling skills, both at speed various swell and wave conditions and in confined areas such as marinas.
You will learn more about engines and types of crafts and their handling caricteristics, and navigation techniques.

Upon Completion you will recieve your Australian Sailing - Powerboat Handling Certificate
Required to gain your dinghy instructor qualification or to operate Yacht Club boats to assist in on water activities.

Some flexibility maybe required to your booking date as the course may need to be resheduled due to unfavorable weather.

Course Overview
This one-day course is designed to improve your boat handling skills, especially in confined areas such as marinas and in swell and waves. You will learn more about engines and types of crafts and practise navigation techniques on a passage. In some instances, you can take your completion certificate to your State Maritime Regulator and gain the State Boat License. 

Course Prerequisites

Water confident. The skills and knowledge gained in Start Powerboating or equivalent power boating experience.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to further develop their powerboat driving skills. This course is also a prerequisite for becoming a Dinghy and/or Windsurfing Instructor.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Powerboat Handling completion certificate.
