Hockey Australia Masters Committee (HAMC) will appoint a Contingent Manager for each sanctioned event in which Australian teams compete.  All applicants should review the Contingent Manager Position Description.

 

  The Contingent Manager will have principle responsibility for the Team Contingent in the following areas:

  • Coordination of all logistical matters before and during the Event, including, but not limited to – accommodation, ground transport and tournament specific events (such as Opening Ceremonies, Dinners etc). In order to facilitate this, the Contingent Manager will be appointed at least four months prior to the event and be included in plans as a member of the HAMC Event Organising Group.
  • General coordination of Team Managers as a group at the Event enabling the sharing of information both before and during the event. This will be achieved by regular informal meetings of the group as deemed suitable.
  • Provide secondary support to Team Managers when required, including medical transfers, and any assistance dealing with injured or sick players or as requested by a Team Manager or Coach.
  • Assist other Australian Official Contingent members such as Medical Support Personnel and Statisticians with logistics.
  • If necessary assist WMH Appointed Australian Technical Officials and Umpires with logistics.
  • Provide support on all matters associated with a team competing in the event such as tribunal hearings and appeals including disciplinary matters that may occur.
  • Manage and ensure the safety of all contingent members and coordinate the on-ground response for any critical incidents with the Hockey Australia Critical Incident Management (CIM) Team Leader and provide necessary assistance and support as directed by the Hockey Australia CIM Team.

Commitment times/dates – the Contingent Manager is expected to meet the contingent commitment dates for Auckland as per below:

The appointed Contingent Manager will be expected to arrange their own transport to and from the event and book their accommodation through the HAMC approved travel provider to ensure representation for HAMC during the above dates. 

The Contingent Manager will be self funded and an honorarium to assist with accommodation and travel costs will be agreed with the applicant.  All travel with be at the individual's risk and comprehensive travel insurance is required.
