Hockey Australia Masters Committee (HAMC) invites nominations from Australian Masters players to attend the 2023 World Masters Hockey Asian Continental Championship (Cup) in Hong Kong from November 20-26, 2023 - link to details of event here.
Australian teams have been invited to attend this event, however will not qualify to win their age groups as only teams from within the Asian Continental Federation are eligible to win Asian Championship medals.
Nominations are invited from current 2023 Trans Tasman Players and Shadow players, World Cup 2022 Players and Shadow players, and players who attended the Masters Championships in Cairns and Gold Coast in 2022. "Paper" selections will be made by HAMC appointed selection panel/s from selector and/or coach feedback from Christchurch, Tokyo, Cairns, Gold Coast & Nottingham. You must be a registered member of Hockey Australia Masters. This is separate from your Club and State registration. It does not cost any more but facilitates easier communication channels with players and officials.
To start, please click here, register as a returning member (you only need to complete the compulsory fields and don't need your ID number) and then select Hockey Australia Masters Player.
HAMC has been asked to select teams in the following age groups for the Asian Championship:
- Women 40+. Selectors will consider players aged 40 or above as at 31 December 2023.
- Men 40+, 50+, 60+, 65+. NB. nominations from players in older age groups will be considered due to the limited age groups offered. Player's age is determined as at 31 December 2023.
Australian and Spirit of Masters teams will be selected depending on the number of nominations received. SoM eligibility.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION for consideration prior to nominating:
$66 incl. GST nomination fee is Non-refundable unless the event is cancelled at no cost to HAMC or selection for your age group does not proceed. No refunds will be made if you withdraw for any reason.
Your bank details have been requested in case we need to refund you. NOTE: Collecting account details via revsport protects your privacy and is much more secure than providing these details by email.
The Australian Contingent commitment including pre tournament training will be from 6pm Friday 17 November to Monday 27 November - accommodation will include Friday to Sunday nights (10 nights).
All selected players and appointed officials will be required to stay at the accommodation designated by HAMC.
All contingent players and officials will be required to meet at the accommodation as designated by HAMC on the arrival date and time to be confirmed.
The budget for this event has not been finalised. The tour levy of approx $440 incl. GST will be payable to Hockey Australia 7 days after player acceptance. Accommodation will be booked through Travelcall and it is estimated the cost will be between approx $1,400 to $2,200. Travel arrangements to and from the event are the responsibility of selected players and officials at their own expense and risk. Internal travel details will be advised after teams are finalised. All selected players will be required to have fully comprehensive travel insurance.
All players and officials will be required to wear the O'Neills branded uniforms supplied for the Trans Tasman event. If you competed in WC2022 in Nottingham or Tokyo and do not have the 2023 playing strip and walkout shirt you will be required to order through the Uniform portal. All uniforms are at the contingent member's expense and only O'Neills branded items may be worn by the contingent. For new Australian players, mandatory items will cost $450+.

All nominees must retain their receipt generated by the RevSPORT system. If you think you have nominated and do not receive a receipt, please request confirmation from teams@hamc.org.au.
