In 2023, Summer Hockey 5s is coming to GVHA! Summer Hockey 5s is a social competition, no need to register to a Club, just grab a bunch of friends, start a team and play! See all the relevant details below:

• Dates: 11, 18 & 25 October. 8, 15, 22 & 29 November. 6 December (ALL dates are Wednesdays).
• Times: 6:00pm & 6:45pm game time for Juniors and 6.45pm & 7:30pm start for Seniors (times will depend on number of registrations and are yet to be confirmed).
• Venue: Shepparton Hockey Ground (120 Numurkah Rd, Shepparton VIC 3630)
• Senior Competition: This will be an open age, mixed (male & female) competition. Juniors (under 18) can play in this competition, and although not mandated, it is recommended that juniors be at least 14 years of age to play in seniors.
• Junior Competition: This will be a mixed competition (male & female). Participants must be under the age of 18 to participate. There will be an U12 and an U16 competition. Players/teams will be placed into competitions based on age,
• Registration Fee: $80. For Juniors wanting to play in the Senior competition as well as the Junior competition, you must register and pay twice.

Registration Fee of $80 covers:

• Insurance
• Umpires
• Match Day Facilitator
• revSPORT Fees
• Pitch Hire/Cleaning

Process to Register

1. Register to this event. If you have a team, please tell your team members to all register as well. After registrations are complete, we will reach out to you and ask you who is in your team. If you register as an individual, we can put you in a team.
2. Teams are responsible for providing their own uniform (same dominant colour top will suffice, no numbers are required). It would be a good idea to bring a clash top as well.
3. Teams will need to give themselves a team name (must be in good taste).

Competition Rules

1. Games will be played in the Hockey 5s rebound boards.
2. Five players on the pitch at a time. Goal Keepers are optional, however must be fully padded if playing and count as part of the 5 on the pitch at a time.
3. No hitting or tomahawks, pushing only.
4. Games will consist of two 20 minute halves, with a 2 minute break at halftime.
5. The game clock/scoreboard will start at the scheduled game time, regardless if teams are ready or not.
6. There will be one appointed umpire for each game. If your team has any players that are able to umpire, please email jlarocca@hockeyvictoria.org.au with your interest.
7. There will be a ‘Match Day Facilitator’ present each match day.
