Michael ‘Gibbo’ Gibson was a life member of GRSA who represented GRSA, NSW and Australia from an early age, winning many National Titles and playing in four World Championships between 2000 and 2013.
Unfortunately, Gibbo lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in July 2023.
The Michael ‘Gibbo’ Gibson Memorial Grant is an initiative set up by GRSA in 2024 and supported by Michael’s family. The fund, created in Gibbo’s honour, is aimed at supporting young GRSA athletes and their families with the financial costs associated with playing softball at an elite State and/or National level.
The Michael ‘Gibbo’ Gibson Memorial Grant will be allocated on an annual basis and is decided by a panel based on the applications received. Please see the following link for the application form for the inaugural funding allocation.
Applications for this year close on 31/03/25 and the recipient/s will be announced by 30/04/25.
