Hookin2Hockey is an introductory program designed to introduce young children, typically of primary school age, to the sport of hockey. It focuses on teaching basic skills, developing fundamental motor skills, and fostering social connections. The program serves as a great introduction to hockey and can lead to participation in more competitive programs in later terms.

Specifically catering to children between the ages of 4 and 10, Hookin2Hockey is the perfect starting point for youngsters to get involved in the sport. Children between the ages of 6 and 6 who join the Hookin2Hockey program will have the opportunity to upgrade to the Under 8 or Under 10 competition based at the Greensborough Hockey Club. These competitions are held on Saturday mornings, and participants can make the transition as soon as they are assessed as ready and both the parents and child express a desire to join the team.

The program includes an introductory component aimed at teaching the basic skills of hockey, skill-based games to enhance children's practice and skill development, and a fun, safe environment for learning and playing. It is an official program of Hockey Australia. Additionally, the program facilitates equipment lending, such as shin guards and hockey sticks, on a weekly basis.
