About
FUN. FITNESS. FRIENDSHIP.
“Brisbane Grammarians’ Rowing Club” was formed for the purpose of re-uniting Brisbane Grammar School Old Boys of all ages with the wonderful sport of rowing.
There is no other sport that embodies the essence of teamwork like rowing. The crew operates as a single organism, with no star athlete, but each crew member giving his all for the good of the whole. To experience the hum of the boat propelled by the crew rowing in perfect unison is a truly exhilarating, yet strangely humbling, experience.
Our Club ethos is to be inclusive and provide a supportive environment for rowers of all ages and experience to enjoy their rowing. In addition, we aim to encourage members to improve their health and fitness by belonging to this Club.
We also provide a healthy social calendar during the year. As a Club, we provide the opportunity for rowing socially for fitness, and also at a competitive level.
Our membership comprises a full range of age groups, from recent Old Boys to Masters age (>26 years of age) rowers.
There are ample opportunities for competition, as there is a healthy Club & Master’s rowing calendar spread over the year. Our Club boatshed is located under the Rowing Queensland offices in the rowing precinct, Jane Street, West End. (Directly behind the Brisbane Grammar School boat shed). We have access to Rowing Queensland facilities, including gymnasium, ergos and bathroom facilities. We hope that you will enjoy your experiences as a member of this Club. We welcome your feedback and suggestions as to how to make your Club even better.
Happy Rowing!
