GSC would like to say a warm congratulations to Sabot sailor Miles Greenwood who had a fantastic regatta at the 57th Sabot Nationals held at Townsville Sailing Club during the school holidays.

Miles was a clear regatta favourite after winning two consecutive State Championships. His dedication and hard work training over the years was recognised at the regatta when he was also awarded the prestigious Lionel Shipway Trophey for participation in six sabot nationals/sabot week titles.

It comes after a 21 hour car ride with an encouraging family after COVID 19 restrictions meant heavy traffic to and from the venue.

Over the regatta series Miles had five 1sts, two 4ths and one 3rd. He will now decide whether to defend his title in the Sabot and may broaden out into the Optimist Class.
