Congratulations to GSC sailor Kurt Hansen who recently competed in the Open 49er Class World Championships in Auckland, New Zealand last week.

After a week of mixed weather conditions against the World's best Olympic level sailors, Kurt and his crew Simon Hoffman came 58th Overall; continuing to improve throughout the week with a 1st in races 10, 11 and 14 in the Bronze Fleet. The overall winners were Peter Burling and Blair Tuke from New Zealand who won their 5th World Championships in the class.

Kurt will now go on to compete in the 2020 Worlds to be held in Melbourne in early February. We wish Kurt all the best in his rigorous training program. Congratulations Kurt!
