In the Sports Boats, the new Adult Learn to Sail participants had their first taste of racing, with John Morton taking the helm to guide the newcomers to victory. The contender class was also back in action, with a solid 6 boats training hard in the lead up to their nationals which will be held at Gosford early next year. Sam Ellis placed first, closely followed by Brian Pike. Kye Rivers and Jacob West looked fresh in their 29er 'Screamin Seaman', while it was also great to see Mark Jarred helming a Fireball and Peter Ineson sailing his D One. In the Laser full rig, consistent frontrunners Erez Kaplan, Kevin Phillips and Stefan Walker placed first, second and third respectively. Helen Monk placed first in the Laser Radial while Myah Greenwood sailed well in her Laser 4.7. On handicap in the Laser full rig, first was Bill Nixey, second was Greg Moyes and third was Bob Partridge.
