The Gosford Sailing Club Youth Sailing Academy is an exciting opportunity to gain hands on experience and develop your skills in our Magic 25 sailing boats. The course aims to improve boat handling skills in the larger boats whilst increasing the participant’s knowledge of sailing with both a symmetrical and a-symmetrical spinnaker. This will include introducing and developing match racing techniques.
Course cost includes coaching, use of equipment and if selected entry into the 2019 Harken Regatta.

Course Overview

You will now learn the basic racing rules of sailing, skills and tactics and gain an understanding of what is expected of a racing crew on a small boat.

Course Prerequisites

Water confident and the skills, knowledge and experience gained from the Start Helming and Crewing courses, as well as the Spinnakers course.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin racing in a keelboat. Perfect for those wishing to take up some twilight racing at your local club.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Racing completion certificate.
