We are pleased to welcome participants to our fun and active OutThere Sailing PROGRAM for Term 2, 2024.  This course will include Four sessions, conducted on consecutive Wednesday afternoons on the dates listed above.

The Gosford Sailing Club Youth Sailing Academy is an exciting opportunity to gain hands on experience and develop skills in the Magic 25 sailing boats. The course aims to introduce sailors within the Junior Section, aged 13-17 to Keelboats

All session times are 4:00pm to 6:30pm

Training will be conducted on the Club's fleet of Magic 25 Keelboats, which carry an Instructor and up to four course participants. Boats will be sailed on Brisbane Waters (Gosford).

The program, for sailors aged 13 to 17 years, allows both complete novices to learn to sail and experienced dinghy sailors (Junior Fleet Equivalent) a guided transition into keelboat sailing. 

We continue to build on individual sailing skills week to week so that the young sailors are always learning.  We aim to progress all sailors to the point that they can confidently, with their crew, sail a keelboat themselves without the instructor on board.

The GSC Sailing Academy abides by the Australian Sailing instructor:student ratios, hence places are strictly limited.  To avoid disapointment, we recommend registering early.  

The registration fee for this five-week course is $200. 

Overview

This is an OutThere Sailing combined course (a combination of OutThere Sailing 1, 2, 3). The combined course enables individual progression accross its duration, whilst allowing friends to remain together.

OutThere Sailing will always be about fun, social engagement and safety.

Prerequisites

Water confident.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who are 12-17 years-old looking to try a new activity, have some fun and engage with others whilst sailing.

Course Outcome

By the end of the OutThere Sailing combined course, the participants will achieve the standards of either OutThere Sailing 1, 2, or 3 and have had a lot of FUN with friends!
