The next step in your sailing pathway is the level two: Saturday morning program. Please be sure to see the front office of GSC to register and complete club membership.

When Does the course run
The level 2 sailing program is an 8 week course offered from Saturday 20^th October through to Saturday 8^th December (with one week spare in-case of blow-outs-up until Sat 15^th December). The course runs from 9:00-11:30am at Gosford Sailing Club.

What Does the course cover
The program goes over fundamental dinghy sailing skills. This includes rigging and de-rigging, on-water skills such as steering and tacking correctly, sailing upwind and downwind and a broader understanding of the wind wheel, gusts and lulls. Following successful course completion, the sailor will be able to steer a boat by themselves under supervision, and be prepared for the progression into the Silver Fleet Program.

How to Enrol
Enrolment is actioned upon completion of GSC's level one sailing program. You must see the front office of GSC to fill out a membership form package. The package includes membership for 1 x Junior and the total L2 course cost as well as up to 2x Social Memberships, $160. Course Overview

This course introduces participants to dinghy sailing and its fundamental skills so they learn terminology and equipment and practice launching and returning to shore and capsize recovery. 

Course Prerequisites

Water confident.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing 1 completion certificate.
