Facilities
Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club Sailability has nine Hansa Class 303 two person dinghies and two Liberty Class single person dinghies available for Sailability participants to enjoy the activity of sailing.
In addition, there is a North Shore 19 foot daysailor which is used on sailing days and ideal for persons not initially confident in a smaller boat.
A motorized electric crane is installed at our specific docking area to allow sailors requiring the use of a sling to be transferred to and from our boats.
A motorised rigid inflatable boat is employed to support and assist the sailing fleet. This boat was generously donated by the Masonic Charities Trust in 2020 and follows many years of support for our Sailability program by the Goolwa Corinthian Lodge.
The clubrooms are open for Sailability events and provide toilet and shower facilities for participants, their families, and carers. Extensive lawns and carparking are immediately adjacent to the Sailability launch area.
Lunch and refreshments are available at a small cost, and is a valuable social event in itself to interact and further enhance a day of sailing.
Encouragement is provided to sailers to participate at annual Sailability State Championships, participating against like sailors from other clubs.
Volunteers
Programs such as Sailability could not exist without the dedicated support of volunteers. It is a highly rewarding activity and a wonderful opportunity to share your time and skills with some very enthusiastic and adventurous people. If you would like to join Sailability as a volunteer, or come and see what it is all about, please contact the Sailability team member listed below.
