At Glenmore Phantoms, we want playing sport to be as affordable as possible. While we provide some guidelines below, members are encouraged to reuse and recycle.
Players Shirt
All senior and junior players wear the Phantoms players shirt when they take the diamond. This shirt is available to purchase new via the club shop. A local Facebook Group is also a good source of gently used uniforms.
From time to time the club also has some 2nd hand players shirts available. Contact us via Facebook or email to enquire. Donations of used shirts are always accepted.
It is not necessary to wear the shirt to training sessions.
Players Hat or Visor
All senior and junior players wear the Phantoms hat or visor when they take the diamond. These are available to purchase new via the club shop. These can also be sourced used from the local buy and sell Facebook Group.
Players should also wear their players hat, or an alternative during training.
Pants or shorts
All senior and junior players wear predominantly black pants or shorts. These are purchased externally at a shop of your choice and can be any length, but should be of sturdy, protective fabric. As players start to learn to slide, you may want to take into account the need for reinforced knees. These can also be sourced used from the local buy and sell Facebook Group.
Socks
Senior and junior players wear predominantly black, white or purple knee high socks. These are purchased externally at a shop of your choice and should be able to stretch over your shinpads. Unmarked soccer, football and rugby socks will also be suitable for this purpose, as may other sports.
Boots
Most players wear moulded cleats to take the diamond for games and training. You may purchase softball boots, but many players will repurpose their soccer/rugby boots. Regular joggers are also suitable but may not have the same grip when running from base to base.
Young players might like to use electrical tape around the boot to ensure laces do not trip them while running from base to base.
