JB Sharp Results

The final regatta in the JB Sharp series was a pretty good one for Glebe.

Wins included: Natalia in the Women’s Under 16 1x and Tomer in the Men’s Novice 1x.

Seconds included: Women’s under 16 1x, Men’s under 16 1x, MO2x, MO4+, WI2x and MO8+.

Plus a couple of 4th s for the MI4+ (but getting points as second) and MI4x.

The wash up for the regatta was also pretty good with Glebe taking out:

Glebe Centenary Shield - Men’s Open and Intermediate points score

Kevyn Webb OAM Cup – Men’s novice point score

Finally GRC came third overall in the points score.   For a smaller club this is a pretty good result.

Congratulations to all that entered.

If you have photos from this event (or any other) make sure that you let me know and they can be put up on the website for all to see.

The Ray Browne Head of the George 2010

St. George RC are holding a 7km time trial on the 28th of August. This event is not on the normal regatta calendar and is partly a fund raiser for St. George.

The event is also  being held in honour of Ray Browne who was very well known to the older brigade of Glebe RC.  Ray died of a heart attack very suddenly.  He was instrumental in St. George giving Glebe the “Williamson quad” and a number of singles when we had no fleet at all.

Kim is keen to remember Ray and St. George’s help at a time when we needed it and would like GRC to be represented at this event.

If you are available for this event, there is a $15 per seat fee, please let Ken know as soon as possible.

Laws of Boat Racing

For those that are interested.

As part of the review of all of the constitutional documents of RNSW, the Umpires’ Commission has reviewed and standardised the Laws of Boat Racing to align with the format and numbering of FISA and Rowing Australia’s Rules of Racing.

The RNSW Board has resolved to conduct a consultation workshop with all constituent members interested in reviewing the proposed changes to the Laws of Boat Racing. The intent of the workshop is to communicate the proposed changes and allow more detailed debate than what might normally occur at a formal general meeting:

Please review the link below for further information relating to this consultation workshop
