Current GRC COVID Rules - Changes in Red

1. Mandatory Check-in by QR Code or book

Ensure you sign-in with the Service NSW QR Code if you are in the shed for any reason.

If you go on the water you still need to write your name and boat into the book.

2. Maximum of 10 people per bay

Be considerate of others. Move in and out of the bays quickly. If rowing an 8+ consider moving it to the grassed area for set up to allow others to use the bay.

3. Maximum of 20 people upstairs

4. Maximum of 15 people using the upstairs exercise equipment

5. Rowing equipment: Wash down boats and oars with soapy water after every use.

6. Gym equipment: Sanitize before and after each use.

7. Coxed boats (8+, 4+)

  1. Cox must wear a mask
  2. Cox must sanitise the cox box and cables

New Rules for Dogs in the Shed

Dogs are great but the recent rise in their numbers in the shed is creating some issues that we need to address: dog hair on the floor, interaction with people who don’t necessarily like dogs, using the gym space with dogs roaming around, etc.

So we’re reluctantly adding a couple of rules around dogs:

  1. Dogs are welcome at the shed
  2. Dogs must be on a leash at all times while in the shed (upstairs and downstairs).
  3. Dogs must be restrained, if not with their owner, in one of two places:
    1. On the balcony or
    2. Downstairs outside the shed

LTR course Sunday 7 February - No rowing after 8 am

Please avoid being in the shed between 8 - 11 am this Sunday.

This means 8 am, not 8:30 or 9:00 and no you cannot row in between.

Please be mindful that we will have 17 participants and need all the space. Thank you!!

Always looking for volunteers for LTR. We need people who can drive a tinnie or are happy to sit in a boat with our course participants.

Please message Fran on 0435 064 359

Save the date - End of Season Party - 5 June

The end of season get together will be on 5 June.

Please save the date and there will be updates to follow.

GRC Management Committee 2021 - Stepping Up - Reminder

All good organisations need renewal and fresh blood. The GRC Committee is no different.

While the members of the current Committee are dedicated, personal circumstances will see some step down at the end of this year making way for others to contribute.

For example, after 5 years of service, Jeff, our highly valued Treasurer, has moved away from Sydney and put his single scull on the market.

If you’re interested in stepping up to help continue the 142 year legacy of GRC please have a chat with any Committee member or email secretary@gleberowingclub.org.au.

No special skills are needed, just a little time and a desire to support your fellow rowers.

Clean up Australia Day - 5th-7th March- Reminder

As a Club we will be pushing hard to get all our members to come down over the weekend 5th-7th of March to help clean up Blackwattle, Rozelle, and White Bays.

This is a great way to interact with and show leadership in the community.

Anyone wishing to take a leadership role with this please let Brad or Fran know please.

Working Bee - 6 February: Registration Link - Last Chance

There’s still time to register.

We will have a working bee with focus on boat maintenance Saturday 6 February.

Bring your tools! Hammer, spanner, screwdrivers...we can use them all.

This is an important Working Bee due to the high usage levels at the moment.

Participating in Working Bees is part of helping each other to succeed. If you cannot make the Saturday morning please message Brad and Fran to organise an alternative date. Brad and Fran will be at the shed all of Friday afternoon/evening, and Saturday morning.

Register here: Working Bee Registration
