Current GRC COVID Rules - Changes in Red

1. Mandatory Check-in by QR Code or book

Ensure you sign-in with the Service NSW QR Code if you are in the shed for any reason.

If you go on the water you still need to write your name and boat into the book.

2. Maximum of 10 people per bay

Be considerate of others. Move in and out of the bays quickly. If rowing an 8+ consider moving it to the grassed area for set up to allow others to use the bay.

3. Maximum of 20 people upstairs

4. Maximum of 15 people using the upstairs exercise equipment

5. Rowing equipment: Wash down boats and oars with soapy water after every use.

6. Gym equipment: Sanitize before and after each use.

7. Coxed boats (8+, 4+)

  1. Cox must wear a mask
  2. Cox must sanitise the cox box and cables

LTR course Sunday 31 January - No rowing after 8 am

Our next LTR course starts this Sunday, 31 January, and runs for 4 weeks.

There is no rowing after 8 am in the shed. Please be mindful that we will have 17 participants and need all the space.

As always we would love to have some volunteers. Please email fran@gleberowingclub.org.au

GRC Management Committee 2021 - Stepping Up

All good organisations need renewal and fresh blood. The GRC Committee is no different.

While the members of the current Committee are dedicated, personal circumstances will see some step down at the end of this year making way for others to contribute.

For example, after 5 years of service, Jeff, our highly valued Treasurer, has moved away from Sydney and put his single scull on the market.

If you’re interested in stepping up to help continue the 142 year legacy of GRC please have a chat with any Committee member or email secretary@gleberowingclub.org.au.

No special skills are needed, just a little time and a desire to support your fellow rowers.

Clean up Australia Day - 5th-7th March

As a Club we will be pushing hard to get all our members to come down over the weekend 5th-7th of March to help clean up Blackwattle, Rozelle, and White Bays.

This is a great way to interact with and show leadership in the community.

Anyone wishing to take a leadership role with this please let Brad or Fran know please.

Working Bee - 6 February: Registration Link

We will have a working bee with focus on boat maintenance Saturday 6 February.

This is an important Working Bee due to the high usage levels at the moment.

Participating in Working Bees is part of helping each other to succeed.

Register here: Working Bee Registration

Connecting With Other Members - WhatsApp - Reminder

As racing season starts (and new year resolutions kick in), we know people are on the lookout to form squads and crews.

There are several Whatsapp groups that help people keep in contact and find missing crew members at the last minute.

If you need help finding people to row with, please ask anyone on the Committee and we can help you get added to the right Whatsapp group.

The list of current groups and instructions on how to join are held on the Key Contacts page of the website: Key Documents and Contacts.

Please check out the groups and ask to be added so you can keep up with your areas of interest.

Lights and Clothing Suppliers - Reminder

We’ve created a new website page providing buying options for common rowing equipment, as uncovered by GRC members over time.

Note that this page should not be taken as endorsement of or guarantee by GRC as to quality or fit for purpose but it is a good starting point.

If you have additional sources please email them to secretary@gleberowingclub.org.au
