Foodbank drive – Bring your donations to SIRC please!

At this year’s 2019 Reindeer and Sprint Championships Regattas, Rowing NSW will be hosting a food drive on behalf of Foodbank NSW.  The Regattas will be used as collection points for you to bring along your non-perishable foods for donation.

Foodbank is Australia’s largest food relief charity which redistributes more than 42 million kilograms of food and groceries a year.  They provide 74% of all food distributed by food relief organisation in Australia.  They assist with charities and welfare agencies with food relief in natural disasters and collaborate in programs such as School Breakfast 4 Health.

Need some ideas of what to donate? Here or some suggestions:

  • Canned meals, fruit, vegetable, soup and meat
  • Noodles, pasta and rice
  • Baked beans and spaghetti
  • Long life milk
  • Baby food and formula
  • Deodorant, soap and body wash
  • Shampoo, conditioner and sanitary items
  • Baby wipes and nappies

Please do not donate home-canned, jarred, opened products without labels.  All donations need to be in their original packaging with labels.
