The Committee has comprehensively overhauled the Black Boat Policy and all members and coaches must reapply to use these boats.

By way of background: the Club has a number of competition grade boats that are designated “Black Boats”.  In order to maintain these boats in racing condition, use of these boats is restricted to approved members.

Use of these boats is a privilege, not a right of members.

Use of these boats is at the Committee's discretion.  That discretion involves considering a number of factors including: how the member gives back to the club, rowing ability, ability to perform boat maintenance, and competing status.
