Event information
Learn to Row at Glebe Rowing Club
The Learn to Row (LTR) course at Glebe Rowing Club is a great way to get out on the water and get some experience in this great sport. Rowing is an excellent cardiovascular workout for everyone.
What is included?
We offer a 6-part course with a focus on sculling. In the first session, you will learn the basic rowing techniques on an indoor rowing machine, as well as, becoming familiar with our rowing shed and rowing boats. In sessions 2-6 you will be rowing in beautiful Blackwattle Bay (unless the weather won’t allow doing so). You will be allocated a team of two or four rowers and step by step we will teach you how to row. The course is run by one of our coaches and a small number of volunteers (experienced rowers). They will help you through these six weeks and keep you safe and dry.
What will you learn?
At the end of the LTR course you will have been:
- introduced to a range of rowing terms and be familiar with the different classes of boats
