Overview:
The workshops are designed for individuals who are new to mountain biking and are seeking guidance and support to start their journey in this thrilling outdoor activity. Participants will receive hands-on training, learn essential biking techniques, and foster connections with experienced riders, Auscycling Community Instructors, and Auscycling Foundation Instructors within the local mountain biking community.
Key Elements:
- Skills Development: Participants will be introduced to fundamental mountain biking skills, including bike handling, body positioning, braking, and navigating different types of terrain. The use of Jigsaw jumps at dierent levels and sizes will be available for participants to practice their riding skills before hitting the blue and green trails.
- Safety and Maintenance: Training sessions will emphasize the importance of safety measures, bike maintenance, and trail etiquette to ensure a responsible and enjoyable riding experience. 1 on 1 bike maintenance and discuss participants MTB bikes
- Guided Rides: Riders will have the opportunity to join group rides led by experienced club members, allowing them to explore local trails while receiving guidance and support from seasoned riders.
- Community Engagement: The program will promote camaraderie and mentorship among participants, fostering a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere within Gladstone MTB club.

- All food and drinks. Please let us know of any dietary requirements when signing up.
What to bring:
- We encourage participants to bring their own bike and helmet.
- If they require the loan of a bike or helmet for the day, please contact the club (gladstone.mtb.inc@gmail.com) and we can organise one. Please note, there are limited numbers of loan items available.
What to wear:
- Loose, comfortable clothes
- Closed in shoes
- Any other protective equipment you may wish to wear (e.g. gloves, knee or elbow guards)
Supervision:
- MTB instructors are AusCycling accredited and have a current QLD Working with Children Cards.
- Event Medic and First Aid Attendants will be on-site. Please inform us of any existing medical conditions so that we can provide the best care possible, if required.
