Success at the 2023 Australian Masters Games
Adelaide Masters Games 2023. How great was it?? We've travelled, had practice sessions, visited the magnificent Adelaide Central station for merch load up and competed to the best of our abilities for two whole days.
We brought a team together from 5 clubs, mainly ours & our friends the Kingfishers, plus some ring-ins from our state team and of course very capable young pool sweeps. What an experience!!!
39 clubs from all over Australia, the tenacity of teams like Dubbo - are they serious competitors! But also the efforts and contributions from every one of our own team members was absolutely above and beyond everything we had hoped for!
Dancing & singing our hearts out in the muster tent in the rain, friendship & amazing sense of achievement. Not to mention the paddling experiences!
Results highlights:
Senior C Womens 10 Blue - 10th, out of 32 teams! Congrats ladies
Senior B Womens 10 - 14th out of 26, with less than 5 seconds between us & first place!
Senior B Open 10 - 8th out of 18
and Senior A Open 10 - 7th from 16 teams, a great result!!!!
Thank you all, competitors and organisers, including those who weren't able to attend- our hard working coaches and committee membersand fellow paddlers back home, and those who dared to dream of a composite Gippsland team and made the idea come alive!! Their contribution to making this event so successful was crucial and appreciated! Thank you!!!
We are looking forward to bringing in our new members, training and building our club and our teams for the coming events. We are looking forward to seeing you at training after some well earned R'n'R.
Keep an eye on the Australian Masters Games website, and make a note in your calendars for Canberra 2025!!
