Our Roller Derby (League) training happens twice a week at the Churchill Leisure Centre on a Tuesday night and a Sunday afternoon. We welcome spectators always and are keen to share our sport with anyone who is interested!
Please note, those wanting to participate on skates must be cleared - please email gippslandrangesrollerderby@gmail.com if you'd like to find out more.
How do I get cleared for Roller Derby training?
Our SkateFit program doubles as a Roller Derby bootcamp and teaches you all the basic footwork and safety skills you'll need to know before you can start your derby journey. Once your SkateFit instructor feels you're ready (usually after 1-2 Terms of SkateFit) you'll be encouraged to sit your White Star assessment which is the first level of Roller Derby! Once you pass your White Star you are most welcome to join us in League training.
NOTE: there is an insurance upgrade required when you shift from SkateFit to League training!
I'm new to the area but I've played Roller Derby before... what should I do?
Amazing! We would love to meet you! Send us an email at gippslandrangesrollerderby@gmail.com and we will get you organised (we will ask a few questions about your experience, how recently you were playing and where you were playing so we can make a decision as to the best way forward).
