It's been four years since the Lismore Workers Masters Games has been played in Lismore.
With the 2021 competition abandon due to Covid 19, followed by the 2022 floods that wiped out Lismore, it was fantastic to finally get the 2023 Games underway.
Eleven teams from across NSW and Queensland played in two divisions. The over 35’s had five teams; I’d Hit That, Rous Relics, Scorpions, The Benchwarmers and Wild Turkeys, while Anxiety Angels, Brisbane Fusion, Byron Oldsox, Condors, Harlequeens and Lightning Strikes all took up the challenge in the over 40’s competition.
Scorpions were the team to beat in the Over 30’s and finished the competition undefeated taking out the Gold Medal. Local teams Rous Relics and Benchwarmers ended up on equal points for second place with runs against awarding Relics the Silver Medal and Bronze to Benchwarmers.
Likewise, Harlequeens blitz the Over 40’s competition. But in the playoffs for the Gold & Sliver Medal they had to pull out their best plays to defeated Brisbane Fusion 2 runs to 1 to win the Gold. Fusion took home the Silver with Anxiety Angels winning the Bronze.
