Program Overview
The Autumn Holiday Hockey & Multi-Sports Camp and vocational care offers a variety of fun sporting activities for children aged over 5 years. Our goal is to provide an engaging environment where kids can explore different sports, build skills, and make new friends.
Sporting Activities
The camp features an exciting line-up of sporting groups, including:
- Hockey
- Tennis
- Taekwondo
- Table Tennis
- Fitness Kidz
Certainly, there is something for everyone!
Hockey Training Program
In the mornings of the first four days, children will learn the basic skills, rules, and safety techniques of hockey. They will progress through the nationally recognized Junior 'Hookin2Hockey' training program. All equipment, including sticks and balls, will be supplied. (Mouthguards are voluntary for this age group).
Experienced Players
The program is designed to challenge and improve the hockey skills and game techniques of all individual levels of ability and experience.
Consistent Camp Attendees
Our progressive 'Play-On' series of skill development ensure that all players will advance through the hockey training stages to more challenging techniques and activities.
Seasoned or Competitive Players
Francisco, FNCHI's Head Coach, will be leading a special squad dedicated to ensuring our experienced players are challenged with a new range of engaging drills and games, providing specialized attention and directly focusing on individual strengths.
Afternoon Sport Sessions
Each afternoon, for a couple of hours, children will have the opportunity to experiment with and sample a different sport every day. This approach helps ease any hesitation kids may have when trying a new sport for the first time. Being part of a group, they will feel more comfortable and confident, experiencing the new sport alongside other first-timers, learning and practicing together.
Benefits of Participation
Sport is an excellent way for children to connect with others outside of their normal school zones. Through sport, kids can:
• Break down individual social barriers
• Build inner strength and resilience
• Experience less stress and anxiety
• Form solid, supportive relationships
Plus, there is a whole lot of fun to be had!
Morning Tea & Lunch
Kids at the camp will be offered a variety of fruit for Morning Tea, with a sweet snack for energy replacement. Lunch will change daily from a Sausage Sizzle on Monday, sandwiches/rolls Tuesday and Wednesday, and a BBQ burger lunch with salad on the final day.
All special dietary needs will be catered for with the assistance of parental input and suggestion. Please forward any preferences and suggestions by email to the Camp Coordinator before commencemant of the camp.
Children are welcome to bring any food preferences they'd like from home. We can store lunch boxes, labeled with your child's name, in the refridgerator on a daily basis.
Canteen
Our canteen will be open for the sale of snacks (lollies, chips, etc.) and drinks (no coke). Children will require a small amount of money to purchase these items.
Please Note: if your child has money to spend at the canteen, our staff will assume they have parental permission.
Special Invitation to Parents, Carers, Siblings, Etc.
Please join us for morning tea and/or lunch on Thursday. Watch your kids in action, and see all they've learnt at the camp. Morning Tea starts about 10.30am, with lunch at 12.00pm.
We look forward to welcoming your child to the Summer Holiday Hockey & Multi-Sports Camp for an unforgettable experience!
