2021 Canterbury Schools Competition 

This competition will be run by United Fencing Club. 

 

NZ National Secondary School Champs are in Christchurch in Term 3(End of August).  Therefore this year we are offering both  individual and team events at Canterbury Schools, so that your school can prepare for NZ Secondary School Champs.

 

Dates: Saturday 26th June and Sunday 27th of June 2021

Place: Christchurch Girls High School Gymnasium - Matai Street. Gym to the left beyond the carpark

8:55am Roll Call                                           

9:15am Foil Pools start                                                                                                                                  10:30am Registration Primary and Intermediate Foil (fenced as U13 and U10  age groups)                 10:55am Roll Call                                            

11:15am Start Primary and Intermediate Foil Pools                              

11:30am Secondary School Foil Team Registration Closes         

Please Note        Girls and boys fence separately and DEs may be limited.                                              1:00pm Secondary School Foil Teams. Limit of two Teams of 3/4 boys and /or  3/4 girls per school

ENTRY FEES: $10 per weapon fenced in Individuals.   $20 for each Secondary School team.                                                     Pay on the day or via Internet Banking to ANZ 01-0815-0005275-00   Please include fencer name or team name as reference 

CLOTHING AND GEAR   All fencers must wear protective clothing and masks in good condition.  

Fencers must wear at the following:   350N Jacket, 350N plastron, 350N mask, chest protector for girls, glove,  breeches, long white socks, gym shoes.   Track suit pants are acceptable if you have no breeches.   

Please bring your own weapons, lame and body wires.  

Weapons checked on the piste for Open and DE events. 

  

REFEREES     Each school or club must arrange for at least one non-fencing referee to accompany every six of their fencers 

FORMAT    You may enter the Open Secondary School Championships  male or female F/E/S or age group (Primary or Intermediate Events)  Limited DEs may decide the Secondary School championships.  Some groups may combine depending on numbers.   

Fencers who fence in more than one weapon may affect the timing of events

Entry fee $10 per weapon, $20 per team. Pay on the day or by internet banking

 to  ANZ  01-0815-0005275-00  Add name of fencer or team.

 

 PLEASE NOTE : only water is allowed to be consumed in the Gym

BECAUSE OF COVID WE WILL NOT PROVIDE FOOD. Food can be eaten outside
