January Training Camp

Mid South Training Camp  2021

This January come and join us for an opportunity to train and make new friends at our beginning of the year training camp. Our vision is to create an environment that will allow our fencers to experience some of the high level training we get to take part in as part of preparation for big international events all the while making new friendships along the way.

Eligibility: This camp will be aimed at fencers who are wanting to push and challenge themselves to improve as much as possible and be the best competitors this season they can.

The age range we are looking for is anyone who are high school age  up to university aged fencers as long as they have 1 - 2 years experience, if you are unsure feel free to ask us or your coach if it would be suitable for you.

Venue: The Fencing Institute, 91 Jack Hinton Dr, Addington

Dates: 11th-15th January 9:00am -3:00pm each day.

Cost: Full Week: $270 (5 days) or $70 per day. For full week programme there will be a discount for fencers travelling to Christchurch from other regions of $30. 

Payment:  Mid South preferred method of payment is by internet banking to Mid South account. 03-0802-0087494-25. Reference use your name and invoice number ie:ME73

Coaches: Sheldon Ogilvie and Kyle Macdonald.

Course Content: Our coaching team will work together to provide you with training similar to what we have experienced overseas in preparation for our international competitions. This will include;

  • Lots of fencing 
  • Footwork and conditioning
  • Mobility and plyometrics

And more...

Please bring: Drink bottle, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, small towel.

Dress: Sports top, sweat shirt or tracksuit top in case it is cold, sports shoes, may wear shorts for fitness, fencing breeches or tracksuit pants to wear when fencing.
