This competititon is run by the Fencing Institute Club and is to be held on Sunday 11 October.
This competition is an open event for all fencers. It is suitable for secondary school aged fencers and up. Novice fencers are particularly welcome. Format will be dependent on numbers but maxi fence will be prioritised. There will be Direct Elimination bouts for the top half of the poule and Plate Finals for the bottom half.
Be prepared for lots of fencing. Final format will be published Friday 9th October.
Venue: Fencing Institute, 91 Jack Hinton Drive, Addington
Timetable:
Foil: Registration: 8.00am - 8.15am for start at 8.30 am
Epee: Registration: 11.30am - 11.45 am for start at midday
Format: Open individual competition for Foil and Epee with B Plate Finals.
If numbers permit we will run separate men’s and women’s events.
Prizes: Foil Open: 1st Titanium guard, 2nd $40, 3rd equal $20
Foil B Plate: 1st $20
Epee Open: 1st $100, 2nd $40, 3rd equal $20
Epee B Plate: 1st $20
Entry Fee: $20 per event. Payable by internet banking (preferred): The Fencing Institute 03-1707-0148185-000 or cash at time of registration. Entries Close 8pm Thursday 8th October
Gear Requirements:
• 350N plastrons Jackets, breeches (to hold the wireless gear snuggly) mask and glove. Chest protectors are compulsory for women. Gear can be hired. Contact us ahead of time.
• Not required: lame bibs, FIE maraging blades.
Lames, mask safety and security attachment will be checked on the piste.
Tea, coffee and hot chocolate will be available free of charge. Our kitchen facilities are available for you to bring your own food.
Covid Alert Levels
If we are in Alert Level 2 we will send out notifications to all those registered and put information on our website as to what measures will be in place.
Results: This competition will have live results available on the Fencing Institute website.
